Breast Lift Plus Implants - Case 11
Case Description
This 40 year-old mother of two from Bemidji, Minnesota came to Minneapolis Plastic Surgery for consultation regarding breast lift and possible tummy tuck (“mommy makeover”). Although she had adequate breast volume for mastopexy (breast lift) alone, she indicated she would like to consider augmentation to a larger size, even though mastopexy only removes about one ounce of skin per side to tighten the skin brassiere. She deferred discussion of abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) to a future date, and subsequently underwent bilateral full Wise-pattern (anchor) breast lift (mastopexy) plus submuscular augmentation in one outpatient operation taking just under 3 hours. Her light general (TIVA) anesthetic allowed rapid, comfortable discharge from our recovery room to a local motel with her adult caregiver (and driver). They came back to our office for recheck the following morning, and returned home for the remainder of her recovery. She returned to Minneapolis for several more rechecks, and her post-operative photos were taken at 3 years from surgery when she returned for consultation about tummy tuck.
