Chin and Cheek Implants - Case 7
Case Description
This 28 year-old woman did not like her profile in photographs, and came to Minneapolis Plastic Surgery for consultation about nose surgery (rhinoplasty). Her retrusive chin contributed to the appearance of excessive nasal protrusion; chin augmentation with a solid silicone extended anatomic (medium) implant, submental direct fat excision (fat removal under the chin area), and cosmetic open rhinoplasty gave her a beautiful new look that still retained her own natural features. Though an even larger chin implant would have been possible (for even more dramatic of a cosmetic change), the patient opted for a more conservative implant size. This was a single outpatient operation under TIVA general anesthesia; after an hour in the recovery room, she was ready for discharge.
