Case Description
This active 73 year-old woman requested facial cosmetic surgery. She underwent SMAS facelift (rhytidectomy) including necklift and platysma (neck muscle) tightening, bicoronal forehead (brow) lift, and upper and lower blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) as a single outpatient operation at Minneapolis Plastic Surgery’s nationally-accredited (AAAASF) office surgical center under a light general (TIVA) anesthetic. This type of anesthesia minimizes PONV (Post-op nausea and vomiting) typically seen with more common inhalation (gas) anesthesia techniques.
