Liposuction - Case 3
Case Description
This 44 year-old man came to Minneapolis Plastic Surgery for liposuction of the abdomen and hips. He is active, maintains a steady weight, but is unable to diet or exercise away the thickness in his midsection. Physical examination confirmed that the excess fat was under the skin rather than inside the abdomen, making him an excellent liposuction candidate. Ultrasonic-assisted lipoplasty (liposuction) of the abdomen and hip rolls was carried out under a light general anesthetic with tumescent local anesthesia to reduce bruising and swelling; the patient wore a compression belt for 3 weeks, but returned to work in several days.
