Case Description
This 5 year-old girl’s parents brought her to Minneapolis Plastic Surgery for correction of her protruding ears. She underwent outpatient otoplasty (“ear pinning”) under a light general anesthetic. Her bandages were removed on the second post-op day, no stitches needed to be taken out (dissolving sutures for children), and she wore only a protective headband at night (nothing during the day) for one month. She had a small inconspicuous scar behind each ear, not visible even with hair up or in a ponytail.
