Breast Lift Plus Implants - Case 22

This 27 year old woman breast fed three babies, and came to Minneapolis Plastic Surgery seeking restoration of her pre-pregnancy breast volume and perkiness. This required full breast lift plus implants, an outpatient operation performed in our nationally-accredited (AAAASF) on-site surgical facility. Even with 4 hours of anesthesia, our TIVA (Total IntraVenous Anesthesia) technique avoids the more-common side effects of gas (inhalation) anesthesia used in hospitals and most outpatient surgicenters. Inhalation anesthesia is safe, but has a longer wake-up, 7-28% nausea and vomiting rate, and too-often overnight admission. TIVA is equally safe, has a rapid wake-up, and 2-3% nausea/vomiting rate. Minneapolis Plastic Surgery has admitted fewer than 10 patients for overnight care in 30 years, largely because of meticulous surgical technique and our TIVA expertise. This woman had no healing issues, and her post-op photos show her natural results at 6 months post-op. 1 year after her surgery she has lost more weight and is considering larger implants.
