Lower Body Lift (Beltlift) - Case 8
Case Description
This 40 year old mother of 3 underwent gastric bypass and saw her weight drop from 240 to 128 pounds. She kept her new weight stable for 3 years, and came to Minneapolis Plastic Surgery for a “mommy makeover.” Because of her massive weight loss and loose skin that extended completely around her abdomen to the hips, thighs, and buttocks, she required full circumferential beltlift (lower body lift) rather than tummy tuck. She underwent outpatient beltlift in a 6-hour TIVA (Total IntraVenous general Anesthesia) procedure in our office surgical facility. Over 3 pounds of loose skin was removed. She left our recovery room in an hour and a half–alert, dressed, and having sipped some coffee. She underwent full breast lift one week later. Her scars will continue to fade over the next 6 months.
