Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck) - Case 7
Case Description
This 38 year-old woman has significant loose skin and stretched abdominal wall muscles from child-bearing and weight loss. She cannot find clothes that fit because of the abdominal pannus (skin apron), and also has chronic skin irritation and rashes where the skin folds rub and retain moisture. Extended abdominoplasty and repair of her abdominal wall muscles (diastasis recti) was carried out in a 3-hour outpatient operation at Minneapolis Plastic Surgery’s on-site AAAASF-accredited surgical facility. Our superior anesthesia meant she had a quick recovery with no nausea or vomiting, no nasogastric tube, and no hospital admission or exposure to sick patients or hospital bacteria. Her scar continued to fade, and should be flat and pale by 12 months from surgery (See case 1 for scar appearance at 1 1/2 year).
