Breast Reduction - Case 3
Case Description
This 19 year-old woman came to Minneapolis Plastic Surgery with heavy, pendulous breasts of mismatched size and nipples that pointed downwards. She is symptomatic with back and neck pain, shoulder grooves from her bra straps, skin rashes beneath her breasts, and intermittent numbness in her 4th and 5th fingers (from bra strap pressure on the nerves to her arms). Bras and clothing did not fit and she hated how her breasts looked. She had outpatient breast reduction surgery that took about 3 hours; no drains were used, and she had only beneath-the-skin dissolving stitches (no cross-hatch marks and no need for removal).
