Breast Reduction - Case 7
Case Description
This 51 year old mother of 4 came to Minneapolis Plastic Surgery because her adult daughter had undergone cosmetic surgery here. The patient had heavy, pendulous breasts, but after calculating the insurance-mandated minimum tissue to be removed in order for coverage (based on BMI, but usually with a “minimum” of 400g per breast), she decided to proceed with elective cosmetic breast reduction/lift surgery. She also liked the idea of less-nauseating TIVA anesthesia we utilize at MPS compared to hospital or surgicenter inhalation (gas) anesthesia, where as many as one/third of patients experience post-operative nausea and vomiting, sometimes resulting in unplanned admission overnight. She did extremely well, and her after photos show her improved appearance at 11 weeks post-op.
