Transgender (F-M) Mastectomy ("Top Surgery") - Case 5

This 30 year-old patient has lived as a male all his life, has been on testosterone for the past 4 years, and came to Minneapolis Plastic Surgery for transgender (F to M) total mastectomies (“top surgery”) and chest masculinization. Total mastectomies, nipple/areola reductions, and reconstruction were carried out as an outpatient operation in our QUAD A-accredited office surgical facility under a light general (TIVA) anesthetic in an operation that took just under 4 hours. (Pre-op photos show shaved chest before surgery; after photos at 10 months post-op). Scars show earlier incision pattern that has now been changed in subsequent patients to go higher laterally and more accurately follow the pec major contours.
